In this article I hope to convince you that quick diet loss will not be achieved by using quick fix or “fad diets”, as they are sometimes known. Yes, we’ve seen them all usually made popular by a famous celebrity who has survived on carrots for a month. Well what I am about to show you will help you understand these diets do not work in the longterm.
What most quick diet loss plans don’t tell you, other than you can only eat the same thing for weeks!, is what you need to do to lose weight, and why and how it happens.
By the time you have read this article you will have the answer about losing weight effectively and so totally understand why you must never waste your time and energy on quick fix diets.
The cornerstone of any successful weight loss is to burn off calories. Yep your probably thinking well we know that but without burning these you will not lose weight. You will burn off calories even if you didn’t move a muscle all day.
Ah you’re thinking well if my food contains calories and my body is naturally burning them off, well I shouldn’t put any weight on. Yes this is true only if you consume the same amount of calories that your body burns a day. Say you have 2,000 calories a day and your body uses 2,000 calories a day your weight will remain the same. This is known as the calorie maintenance level.
Remember calorie maintenance level is the most important element of any diet.
Knowing what your personal calorie maintenance level is will be the answer to all your dieting nightmares. You will easily be able to lose weight and retain your ideal body weight. I will explain a rather obvious fact that makes this so easy. Well it only became obvious to me after I had discovered it! Rather like most things in life.
Right, this is it. If your consumption of calories is the same as what you actually burn off your weight will remain stable. If,however, you have more calories than what you “get rid of” you will gain weight. Reduce your calories below the level at which you burn them off and you will lose weight.
Yes I told you it was simple and it really does work. After the birth of my first baby I created a calorie deficit. I burnt off more calories than I was consuming. So it’s goodbye to the crazy quick diet loss plans that will only work for a few days.
OK to start losing weight sensibly and slowly you need to reduce your calorific intake by 500 calories a day. Yep I know your thinking thats not enough, I won’t lose weight quickly enough etc. Well what you are trying to do is to lose weight that will stay off and lose weight without feeling absolutely dreadful. If you do reduce your intake too much I can guarantee you will feel ill and after about a week give up. This is not another quick fix diet.
The big “E” word is next. Yes exercise. You must exercise regularly to ensure the body does not retain its fat stores. You see we are designed to store fat if our body thinks we are entering starvation or famine. Its our safety mechanism so to push it along a bit we need to exercise to burn this off.
Well there you go. No fancy packages, no cabbage soup for the rest of your life and definitely no diet pills (my absolute pet hate)! just a simple and logical way to lose weight. You must give this a go. No-one is promising you will lose a stone in a week but you will lose weight without using a wacky quick diet loss plan.
